On Dec. 23, the National Housing and Urban-Rural Development Working Conference was held in Beijing. Wang Menghui, Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD), summarized the related work in 2019, analyzed the situation faced, put forward overall requirements for development in 2020, and made arrangements for key tasks. The government will make all efforts to promote the renovation of dilapidated houses in rural areas. As of the end of November, 97.9% of construction work of 1.352 million dilapidated houses that need to be rehabilitated for poverty alleviation had been started. Meanwhile, the pilot project of steel-structure prefabricated farmhouses was launched. The government will reform and improve the engineering standard system, and deepen the market-oriented reform of engineering cost.
Besides, MOHURD will vigorously promote the pilot construction of steel prefabricated houses, continue to improve the project guarantee system and reform the construction labor system. To ensure construction safety, engineering quality should be enhanced, responsibility of construction company should be focused, and safety management at the construction site should be strengthened.
